I have done the 21-day detox 3 times in the last year. The first time though it I lost 23 pounds and kept 19 off permanently! During the holidays I did it again and lost 9 pounds. My husband and I both decided we needed a change in our eating habits so we consulted with Dr. Josh. He has a 21 day “Detox Kit” which sounded like hard work. I mean 21 days of detoxing my body! What was I getting myself into? After our consultation with Dr. Josh, however, I realized I was READY for a change. During the first 4 days of the detox I started feeling really good. I had more energy, and the new meal plan was becoming MUCH easier. The shakes were delicious and I always felt full. On day 11, I had some chicken and realized that my taste buds had either changed or that was some of the best chicken I have ever had! My husband and I experimented with different veggies and recipes we had never even considered trying before. I learned that having a broader spectrum of veggies we could choose from added a lot of variety to our meal options.
After the detox, I started adding foods back in like wheat, dairy, and sugar. I noticed I did not like sweets as much and I could not tolerate anything super sweet which was very unusual for me! I lost 13lbs and have kept 11 of them off permanently. Additionally, I am off a medication I was taking for acid reflux and I have now changed my eating habits for the better.
