My goal is to fix you. Any treatment recommendation or treatment plan I offer you is with this in mind. It's true that life-long holistic health care on many levels including chiropractic is a proven way to improve and optimize your health. How long you choose to benefit from care is always up to you. You are free to choose to get treated weekly or monthly for a corrective or mantenance visit. I will encourage you to continue to improve you lifestyle. This may include starting an exercise routine, diet change, detoxification, weight loss, better sleep, drinking more water (drinking only water!), doing yoga, home energy medicine exercises, walking barefoot, or kinesiotaping. These are just a few of the many other things I might recommend to support you and your journey to being pain-free and in optimal health. This improvement can support you the rest of their lives.
The body is an inherently connected thing. Try as we may, it is impossible to have pain, symptoms, or an illness in one area of the body and not have it affect other areas. I’m interested in flushing out these threads of connectivity and treating them as the causes of pain and symptomatology in my patients. I find: headaches caused by a problem in the pelvis, indigestion that causes disc-like syptoms in the low back, long-standing fatigue that causes heartburn and reflux, plantar fascitis caused by a weakness in the heart meridian, sugar cravings resolved by treating the liver… the list of these connections is endless and I’m always surprised by what I find. Even if the syptoms are the same, no two patients are exactly alike in how the symptoms can be resolved.
Too often, chiropratic and other modes of therapy treat only the symptoms or pain and not the original event that caused the cascade of problems patients may have. This results in a dependent relationship between doctor and patient. Patients again become symptomatic when the care is reduced or removed. This type of care serves no one. Patients don’t heal and doctors are relegated to becoming expensive band-aids chasing pain relief. I believe this is why, my chiropractic profession especially, recommends many treatment sessions each week and treatment plans that last for months or years involving dozens or hundreds of sessions. Other doctors, similarly, bank on this kind of model via drugs, surgery, and other therapies that often have limited reach in creating a healing process in the body. Time and again when I work in concert with the human body and help you remove obstacles to healing (Structural, Chemical, and Emotional), I see results that are unusual and beyond the band-aid approach. This is what may be possible for you. This is my goal: to truly heal.
